What is it about?
Make up your own answers to quirky and interesting questions, then try to get your opponents to believe them, along with ridiculous facts and outrageous lies that will make you laugh out loud.
Just don’t get caught lying or its back to the start. Winner of the Best Party Game 2009 UK Games Expo.
Where did the idea come from?
Bored with other trivia games, Stuart and I would try and fool each other by making up alternative believable answers to trivia questions. He would give me two options – the correct answer and one he would make up. I had to decide which one was the correct answer.
We then injected a bit of humour by incorporating cards with credible lies and unbelievable truths. Friends got involved and urged on by them, we made a prototype Liar Liar. Hence our first game was born… and then we needed to find a name for the company…
And here’s a bit more info…
Contains quirky questions, bizarre truths and a fistful of fabricated facts!
As an example on my turn I may state….”Am I telling the truth or lying when I say ‘A homing pigeon released at the North Pole will attempt to fly vertically straight up into the air’.” You then decide……but remember if I lie successfully I win a lie token, and players need lie tokens to win the game.
What our customers say…
“Two years ago I bought the original Liar Liar game which was great fun – so I bought this second edition for my in-laws at Christmas. It is even better. The game has been simplified and speeded up. The questions are quirkier and the ‘true’ facts even more believable.
Now I’m delighted to go round to their house, because we play it each time we go.” G. Hill
“Just like the old one this game is great for the family, With a little bit of fast thinking and good acting the game can be won or lost, can you convince the other players you are telling the truth and win the lie tokens and the game, it’s harder then you think if they know you well. :).” Hippychick
“An absolutely brilliant game! Had a few friends round recently – got the Liar Liar out and everyone loved it.” C.Taylor
