The Victorian Gamer

The Victorian Gamer is a betting and racing game with four different events - running, rowing, horseracing and boxing. Each event has different techniques and tactics and there are four differently weighted dice to provide variation, interest and spice.
In The Victorian Gamer each player makes an individual challenge against another player for an agreed sum, with the winner taking all. In addition, all players place side bets against the bank..
How the game works.
Each player is given their set of team cards and they place each one on one of the four colour coded cardholders (blue, red, green and yellow). The cardholders relate to the dice that must be used when playing with this playing piece.
The four different events each have their own unique mechanic. In the relay race, you must land in the handover area to continue; in the steeplechase if you land on the fence you are a faller and in the boatrace, you can move diagonally and bump the boat in front of you back three spaces.

In the prizefighting, it is simply dice against dice, the best of five.

A round of individual challenges are made for an agreed pot and in addition each player makes a bet against the bank. Each player has their own betting area on the board, where you place your bet and which will instantly give you the odds.

At the end of each round, the player with the least amount of money decides on a winner takes all, ‘all in’ race for an amount that they choose. After three rounds, the player with the most money wins.

You are always involved because as well as making individual bets, you make bets against the bank on every race.
Choice of four events not one. Each player will have their own favourite.
No calculations required. The weighted dice mean the odds are predefined.
For 2-6 players, age 8 and up.
